Carl Dawson

Carl started climbing in 1964 on his native gritstone in the north of England. He spent many years on traditional routes throughout the UK, until he came across sport climbing in the early ‘80s on a visit to Spain. Since then, he has climbed in North America and, prolifically, across Europe. Carl was secretary to the British Mountaineering Council Guidebook Committee during the 1990s, when he edited several climbing guidebooks, including the well-received ‘On Peak Rock’.
