We would like to come to Kalymnos by boat at about 16april from Samos. I find information on the net that this connection exists but cannot find any shedule. Anyone with experience on that.

Hi Adam,

The small ferry connecting Samos (Pithagorio port) to Kalymnos is called “Nissos Kalymnos”. It’s indeed very hard to find any timetables online. From what I know it runs year-round, and the most recent timetable I found (on a Samos-based Greek site dated 11/2010) is the following:

From Samos (Pithagorio) to Kalymnos:

MON + FRI: Departs 16:15 (arrives 23.00)

WED + SUN: Departs 14:30 (arrives 21.00)

A slightly different timetable is listed here (http://www.nostalgia.gr/timetable-nissoskalymnos.html) but I cannot find a date anywhere, so who knows how old it is. What I would do is walk into a travel agency as soon as you arrive at Samos and ask — travel agents are usually the best informed.

Hi. Boat – Nissos Kalymnos (lovingly known as Nissos Rustbucket) runs from Kalymnos every day at 7.a.m. (ON Tuesday/ Thurs/ Sat to Astypalia) On Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday to Samos (Leros/ Lipsi/ Patmos/ Arki/ Agathonisi/ Samos) – takes 7 hours – I did it in October 2010. Returns immediately – so 2p.m./ 2.30 – Katies timetable looks good to me. Same timetable for last 4 or 5 years. If in doubt – Kalymnos Tourist main office – 00-30-2243-50956. Pithagorio is the town on Samos where the ferry stops. Listed in ‘The Slow Guide to kalymnos’. hope this helps. n.x

what is the best way to come to kalymnos from VIENNA/AUSTRIA outside the season?

i want to come now in march.

fly to athen and then fery?

or fly to kos and fery?

anyone got information about the costs what will be cheaper?
