We plan to climb some multi-pitch routes on Telendos late in September 2012. I will bring my 80 m single rope (9.8 mm) to Kalymnos anyway. But should I bring my two 60 m half ropes (8.4 mm) in addition, for the multi-pitch routes? I see on p 331 of the guidebook (2011) that they are using two (half) ropes on Wings for Life.
1) Are bolts on “Wings for Life” and othe multi-pitch routes put so that it is convenient to clip two half ropes left and right alternatively?
2) Would there be a lot of rope drag on Wings for Life with a single rope, that can be avoided with two half ropes?
3) Are all belay stations on the multi-pitch routes in the guide book equipped with rings, that can be used for rappelling, if necessary?
3) Would not a 80 m single rope suffice for rapelling, when pitch lengths are “only” up to 35 m?
Thanks
