    Hi there,

    I’ve already read that is kind of “unofficially true” that the captain of the last ferry usually waits for the passengers of the last flight.

    I will land in Kos on the 29th of May at 21:25 and the last ferry is at 22:00.

    Considering the time to collect the luggage and get a taxi I guess I will be at the pier between 22:00 and 22:30

    Can anyone tell me if I should book a room in Mastihari ..or I have good chances to get the ferry?

    And also..is it better get the ticket online or the kiosk still open ’til the last ferry departs?

    That is unofficially true, yeh. :)

    I can tell you that 2 weeks ago I landed with easy after 2200, and made it to the ferry ok, we did get a taxi pretty quickly. The ferry waited till around 2300 before leaving. The kiosk was open so no need to book ahead.

    I would caveat all that with the usual proviso that it may not always be the case. I would take the punt and go for it, you shouldn’t have any problems getting a room in Mastihari if there is no ferry or your flight is late in.

    I’ll bother you again guys..What about the Guide-Book, is it the only way to get some info abt the routes or I can easily find something similar (or the same one) in Masouri?

    I cannot imagine going to Kalymnos without the guidebook. There are thousands of routes and so many crags. This year was our fourth time in a row on Kalymnos (so we are familiar) and we always take the book and the updated list of routes with us at the crags. First of all it always helps us to decide where to climb the next day. Except the route infos and grades I find the extra infos (about the approach, the “children-friendly”, the best season etc) very useful. And the book it is great to look at, with a lot of nice photos, we read it even when we are away from Kalymnos and dream about the next time we visit :)
