    Hi,

    I am coming over to Kalymnos in April and I know that after wet winters the tufas might be wet in April. Does anyone know how rainy this winter has been so far?

    Hi I have been 3 times in this winter on kaly, so now, 19. feb. Tufas in the moment a pretty wet so I guess it has to be a very dry march to get them in good conditions.

    the tufas are ever wet early in spring … but there is also nice climb without “gym tufa climb” on kaly … some slabs are also very nice!

    That’s right, and not only slabs, also walls, vertikal or overhang. I can anderstand that the hard moving community avoid kaly in winter because most routes 8a and above are tufas. But I

    can’t anderstand the moderat and soft movers (up to 7b) also avoid. In deed a lot of walls are wet but roughly estimated 50% are dry. And this means more than 1000 routes.

    We are arriving to Kalymnos in a week and was wondering if the Tufas are starting to dry out?
