APACHE.

This small but pleasant sector is dedicated to the movie Vinnetou. The impressive canyon, rock walls and the cave embraced by the wilderness of Kalymnos with magnificient views. All equipped by the Czech climber J.Tiser in 2021 unless noted otherwise. Subsectors Apache Gorge, Apache Wall and Apache cave.

Climbing: All types of climbing.

Conditions: Suitable for year long climbing, faces West, East and South

Kids: No

Approach is short but demanding. Start in the distinct canyon, 150m from Arginonta in direction to Skalia, just before the condos Petra on the right side.

Walk up the canyon. Walking time 15-25 minutes.

Subsector Apache Gorge: Narrow gorge well protected against the wind.

Climbing: Left side – short but heavily overhanging face, solid tufas, excellent pumpy athletic climbing. Right side – nice vertical to slightly overhanging face with longer routes.

Condition: Good for all year climbing. Shade until 1400.

Kids: No.

Approach: Walk up the canyon, walking time 15 minutes.

2. Ribanna, 3*, 7c, 15m, beautiful moves all the way up, Sakal

3. Karl May, 3*, 7c+, 15m, “Do you have enough power?”

4. Old Shatterhand, 3*, 7c+, 15m, Pumpy all the way up

5. Nscho-Tschi, 3*, 7b, 15m, Not so steep, big jug

Right side:

6. Santer, 2*, 6c+, 30m, hard start

7. Rollins, 2*, 7b+, 30m, hard over the bulge

8. Luke, 2*, 7a+, 30m, technical + pumpy climbing

9. Cornell. 2*, 6c+,30m, hard lower part

10. Forrester, 2*, 6b+, 30m, classic grey wall climbing, crux in the lower part

Subsector Apache Wall: Orange and grey vertical + slightly overhanging wall climbing, all kinds of holds.

Approach the same as to the sector Apache Gorge, after 15 minutes there is an obvious wall on the right side, you cannot miss it.

Condition: Shade until 1300.

Subsector Apache Cave: Impressive cave with a potential for more hard routes. Pleasant, sometimes sharp. Grey wall on the right.

Approach: The same as to Apache Wall, then continue right and up.

Condition: Climbing all year round. Shade until noon.
