Arhi – Balcony Helvetia

I found a few new routes in Balcony Helvetia which look very interesting. Does anybody have any information about names/grades?

This area got a complete facelift from (mt guide) Hannes Webhofer and is in top shape now again: New Anchors, several existing climbs totally re-bolted and added 5 new climbs in the grades , 6b/7a/7b/7c/8a+ Detailed info will follow next days.

Some info for Balcony Helvetia in Arhi sector from Hannes Webhofer:

Niels Begglen ( Switzerland ) and myself bolted these new climbs there , we wrote the Grades at the bottom of the climbs yesterday , but not the names yet….

Routes need a bit traffic ! Overall a good edition/upgrade to this area !

+ Grüne Feigen 7c. Rebolted

+ Rapunzel 7b ***. 25m. Left of Mr. Souflaki

+ Perfect Stranger 7a *** 25m Same start as Zange

+ Waiting foreva ( right spelling ) 8a+/8b? Right of Fracaso

+ Streetfight 6b *. 25m right of Waiting foreva

Patsamama ( original 8b? Project ) got a lower anchor 20m 7b/7b+ **

+ Direct start to End of Mythos …..2 bolts !

Visited today. Thanks guys, excellent routes. This sector is now becoming one of the very best on Kalymnos for 7’s.

Rapunzel. Musical note. Top end 7b, maybe 7b+? Brilliant brilliant climbing. Makes you think all the way.

Patsamama. Very good climbing and a great idea to put in the new anchors. 3 star route. Maybe 7b. I did this before Rapunzel and thought maybe a touch easier and more obvious.

Perfect Stranger. This is tricky. I can see you want us to go one way at the crux, I ended up going the other way. Both are quite hard for the grade and I think 7a+ might be a safer grade. This one still feels very new and the broccoli is very crumbly. Great upper section.

End Of Mythos direct is nice too, 6c I think.

Next time I’ll try the 6b, and the 7c right of Swiss which looks amazing.

Hi,

Also visited today,

6b is still fresh, I falled of with big hold in hand so stay focused.

Maybe hard 6b, but will be good after cleaning
