Best sectors and times to climb in the shade next week? (mid-June)

Hi all!

I will be in Kalymnos next week and it’s my first time this time of year. I know it will get pretty hot, anyone have tips or suggestions where and when to climb to get the max amount of shade but still have enough fun and nice routes around the from 6a-7a grades?

For example, does a classic sector like “Poets” get any shade mid-June? And if so what times are best to climb there?

Hi Eran

Kalymnos is fine in summer if you keep climbing in the shade. Check well the sun/shade time at the guidebook and the recommendation at the Crag Planner. Some of the best crags for summer climbing is Arginonta Valley, Odyssey, Grande Grotta, Afternoon and Secret Garden. At Telendos, Irox and Pescatore. Poets it is also good during the mornings up to 12.00.
