How to find the route Inspiration on Telendos south face

Hi

I wonder if someone could please give me some further directions to the route Inspiration on Telendos south face. The post on this website as well as the one on http://www.kalymnosclimbingguide.com has been read, but I am still not sure I will find the right path to the start of the climb. I would very much appreciate if someone could give me some more detailed descriptions, such as where this route is in relation to other routes on that face, preferably routes which are in the guide book.

Is the route equipped with anchors so that you can abseil down?

Hi Michael,

The route follows the left side of the biggest arch you can see to the right of the Crescendo Cave and the route “Wings for life”. You can see this arch on the way to Princess Canyon, it’s obvious, you can’t miss it.

The path is following the bottom of the south face of Telendos, above the one going to Princess Canyon.

I’ve put some yellow marks to show the way and the path is quite good all along. (Only a short passage on the scree, about 20m…)

You can’t abseil down after the second pitch, so it’s good to be sure to have the level to get out of the route from the top. I’ve equipped it very close, the obligatory level if you climb from bolts to bolts is 6c+…

Since it’s a new route, the 3rd pitch on stalactites is still a little dirty, (Wich is normal with all the new routes…) but I’ve cleaned it the most I could…

thank you for your most prompt reply. Could you please let me know why it is not possible to abseil down from above the second pitch? Would it be possible to abseil down from higher up if I would have a few maillon rapide in my back pocket?

Hi Michael,

The route is too overhanging and traversing to abseil easyly…But you can return to the village quickely if you take the “Fast way” describe on my web-site once you will be on the top…
