Last ferry from Mastihari to Kalymnos

Does anyone know if its true that last ferry awaits a little bit longer for last flights. According to schedule last ferry leaves Mastihari 6pm. Our flight arrives Kos 5.30pm. Any ideas if we miss last ferry from Mastihari. What are normal taxi fares from Kos airport to Mastihari and from Kos airport to Kos town? Were coming in the beginning of June.

Hi, the last ferry will leave around 11pm. The ferry you mention is the slow ferry (http://www.anemferries.gr/en/timetable/) but there is also a fast ferry (http://www.anekalymnou.gr/en/) which only takes 25 minutes to cross to Pothia

In reply to your other question, Kpurden, the taxi fare from Kos airport to Mastichari (7km) is 13-15 EUR. (From the airport to Kos town it would be at least twice that amount; the distance is about 35km.)

Ferries: Yes, the last one does wait for the late flights of the day. The last ferry is always the fast ferry, as Herre mentions (anekalymnou.gr). According to the ferry company, that’s the very reason why their schedule changes so frequently (to accommodate the flights).

Make sure to check the timetable close to your travel date. The timetable changes often! We have both ferry schedules here http://climbkalymnos.com/wp-content/uploads/Kos_Ferries_May19_23_2017.pdf, but sometimes we miss the latest changes, so always check the individual sites of the ferry companies as well.

Do the ferries go late even in october?

Is it 0k to just show up at the port in Kos to take a ferry on foot without previously buying the ticket? or should I try to reserve a ferry ride?

I don’t want to arrive at the ferry in Kos to have them say the ferry is full.

I have never experienced difficulties getting tickets when showing up in time for the ferry. I have once seen the boat returning to Mastichari around midnight to pick up the last travellers that did not fit in on the first go. No warranty, but I think you can take this one easy…

@Patrick: As Ludger says above, ferry tickets are not typically an issue. The ferries are very accommodating, and in the (very unlikely) chance that they are full they will figure out a way to get you across. I have also known them to add an extra crossing if necessary; they won’t leave you stranded.
