We have just had another brilliant trip to Kalymnos.
It is becoming more evident though that the lack of recycling is a major problem.
I am not being critical, because we all pollute in some way ( eg by flying across Europe to climb on Kalymnos) but a beautiful island is being spoilt by not being able to recycle plastic, tins, cardboard etc. Plastic in particular is seen on roadsides and generally needs recycling. Is it likely to happen soon? If not, what can we do? – buy a large bottle at the start of the trip, then use the water machines – squash smaller bottles and take them on the ferry to Kos airport, where there are now recycling bins. Next time ?- spend a bit of time picking up empty bottles from the crags and roadsides where we park ?
