wanted: recommendations for 'old school' technical routes (6c/7a)

I’ll be visiting Kaly for the 3th time in May this year.

I’m looking for routes in the 6c / 7a grade – old school technical style (no pumpy, athletic routes).

Last year I climbed at Summertime: Toni 7a. My first in the grade.

I like this style. Also routes like on Belgian Chocolates.

I just love technical, balancy routes.

@all Kaly locals: any routes you can recommend to me? Thanks!

Hi Stephanie, I could suggest you all the 6c / 7a grade routes at sectors Spartan Wall, Ivory tower, Kalydna, Poets, Zeus, Symplegades, Little Verdon, Balcony Skalia, Skalia pillar, Palace and Palionissos Red Wall. If you ask just for a few classics, I would suggest Kaly Magic 7a (Skalia), 2046 6c+ (Ghost Kitchen), Le Coq 6c (Belgian), Lucifer’s Hammer 6c (Spartan), Theodora 6c+ (Kalydna), Solomos 6c+ (Poets), Callisto 6c+ (Zeus), Katsaplias 6c+ and TNT 6c (Symplegades).

Thank you!

My first 6c ever actually was TNT 6c(Symplegades), so – togheter with Toni – that’s the kind of routes I’m looking for!!!

Are the routes suggested by you a bit similar?

My strongest point are this kind of technical, vertical routes. I’m not so strong yet, so overhanging routes at this level are still too hard for me (although I’m try to climb this kind of routes at 6b/6b+ level to improve!).

I would also recommend some 6c’s I have done or tried: Bye bye doc, Asklipios, My Long Holiday (AFTERNOON), Memories (ILIADA), tonic (STANKILL), Uschana (KALYDNA) and maybe IMIA(ODYSSEY)
