*Updated 10 Nov 2010* The new Kalymnos Climbing Guidebook is now printed and available for sale. Despite our best efforts to keep it light and compact, the 2010 edition ended up with 360 pages (that’s 60 more pages compared to the last edition). Included at the end of this post is a downloadable version of all eight pages of Sikati Cave straight from the new book. On the first two-page spread with the general view of the area and the approach paths, check out also the location of a new crag called The Beach: with both slabby and more athletic routes, this little crag comes to fill a long-standing need on Kalymnos for crags next to the water and with shade in the afternoon. There’s only a handful of routes there at the moment, but a lot of promise.
In brief, the new guidebook includes…
–64 climbing sectors
-Nearly 1,700 routes
-A concise crag planner
-New photo-topos and images
-Detailed maps with approach paths
-More useful crag info (conditions, type of rock, sun, orientation, child-friendliness of each crag)
-More details on how to equip new routes
-More practical tips on accommodation, amenities, local interests and rest-day activities
-A new, more functional page layout
And last but not least, click here to enjoy an exclusive preview of the Sikati Cave pages.

Thanks Carl Johan, our island is waiting for your return! By the way Kalymnos is number one crag in the 8a.nu ranking now, beating Frankenjura- despite the hard travel needed. I think, It deserves a special mention at your site.
Sorry we didn’t have your name for the photo caption…In the next edition, then :)
Hi Aris
Funny to see myself from behind “gaping” at Sikati cave with a Roc Trip T-shirt on (p 67). Great work with the guide!
Hi Anthony,
This was a last-minute correction that we made in the guidebook. There was an error in the preview of the Sikati pages (where these two routes were in fact reversed), but the routes appear in the right order in the guidebook: Morgan 7b+ is first and Adam 7c+ is the extension.
Morgan and Adam are reverse on the guide book
There are no more spaced bolts on “Les Pirates de Sikati” (L1 7a+): some bolts have been added, I guess.
Big tufa broken on Beta, now signifiant harder.
And VERY rusted bolts….
Hurray…..
Fabulous pictures, well done you two….
