Crag: School
LONE COUGAR
Rating: 3★
Grade: 7a+
Length: 110m
Description: Multi-pitch (P1 6c+ 25m, P2 7a+ 35m, P3 5c 15m, P4 7a 35m). Hopefully you like corners and cracks! Two-c of the climb is a massive natural line. The top is a technical wall climb. Great variety, different styles, and a mountain feel. P1: A short, easy scramble gets you to the base of this climb. Right-leaning, slightly overhanging corner. P2: A hard start, some tufas, and a steeper wall section lead you into a never-ending corner system. Epic! P3: A short, easy traverse to the right, still a bit dirty at the end. P4: The final test. Different style, some cool moves, a “spicy” traverse, and a stunning finale...Gear: 80m rope, some long slings, locking carabiners, helmets, many quickdraws. Return: Abseil down the route (x 3). The second rappel is short (about 20m). The last one is quite airy. The rappel line goes straight down from the top. There is also an option to top out via fixed rope and walk down.
