Guidebook proceeds and bolts for 2019
Some bolts dating back to 1997 were removed from the route “Telemaco” at sector Odyssey and replaced with brand-new marine-grade Raumer bolts made of 316L stainless steel.

Our 2019 order of bolts and anchors for the cliffs of Kalymnos has arrived. These are bolts that we at Climb Kalymnos buy once a year, on average, using proceeds from the sale of our Kalymnos guidebook. We use the bolts primarily for maintenance of existing routes, but also for equipping quality new routes. This is only made possible thanks to the support of climbers from around the world who buy our guidebook–so thank you, everyone! By purchasing our guidebook, you directly give back to Kalymnos climbing.

Our bolt order for 2019

For this order of Raumer hardware we spent a little over €8,000. We got:

  • 10mm bolts (1,000 sets of bolts + hangers)
  • Lower-offs (200 sets of chain, bolts + carabiner)
  • 12mm bolts (200 sets of bolts + hangers)
  • Carabiners (100) for replacement of worn lower-offs

All bolts come from Raumer’s “Marina” line, made with AISI 316L stainless steel, which is highly resistant to saline corrosion. The anchors are marked with a fish symbol and the initials INOX.
