The third and final Kalymnos Climbing Festival by The North Face is two months away (9-12 October 2014). The official festival page has not been updated yet, but for those who are interested, Planetmountain has posted the day-by-day festival program. Some events will be repeated this year (climbing marathon, storytelling night) while others will not (PROject competition). This year the North Face Kalymnos Climbing Festival will host climbing legends of the ‘80s and ‘90s, namely John Dunne, Jean-Baptiste Tribout, Yuji Hirayama, Beat Kammerlander, Maurizio ‘Manolo’ Zanolla, Gerhard Hörhager and Patxi Arocena, in addition to a Deep Water Solo event. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, an initiative called “1 climber=1 bolt” promises that for each climber who registers, one old bolt on Kalymnos will be replaced with a new one.
